can't bare to part with them at a fleamarket. I don't know for sure what I will

do with them maybe esty if I ever get a store started there. I am going to list some vintag

geocacheing blog also. I got a travel bug in a cache yesterday and can't wait for my trip to

FL going to pass it along then.

We got the house painted outside, what a relief.

MORE TOURIST FINDS & HOUSE

Here is an old log cabin that was found when another building was being torn down. It is the oldest building known in Mercer Co. PA. Wow can you imagine a whole family living in it. Things were sure a hardship back in the day, I wonder how many of us could cope with living at that time? This log cabin is sitting in the small park where I found the lock geocache.
Now for the house progress it is all painted but a small trim around the front porch roof. What a load of my mind. And one step closer to my goal. A big step at that. Thanks to son for all the work. I found out doing this type of labor is not in my future, I can't do all the things I could when I was younger, intresting finding out about these "old age things" I know I will be glad when I can be a "retired" woman. I can't seem to add the pic's at this time so I will come back and try again

GEOCACHING

MICRO GEOCACHEMaggie and I went caching today was sunny but cold maggie stayed in the truck! Found 3 out of
5 we looked for. A couple of these that I cant find , I dont think they are there anymore I wish the owners would either up date them or take them off geocache.com. Didnt take my big old camara today but the pic I posted is of a cache I found the other day. This is the smallest one I have ran across. It is total of about 2" has a tiny length of paper rolled up inside that you sign.
I really like the hunt of this new hobby ...but no one else in my family seems intrested. Other than geocaching and cleaning up around the house today I did not do much. I have started (yesterday) to clean cupboards in kitchen taking out and putting in boxes things I will be selling
when I retrun home in the spring, keep out just enough to live on for the next 8 weeks....tomorrow it is going to be sunny and 60 in the afternoon so son and I are going to get
back to painting on the house. Next 3 days are going to be nice and I think we can get it done.

Well I have been thinking about things that I would blog about while traveling full time in an RV.

I know its going to be awhile so got to thinking about if I were passing thru this town what would be of toruist type intrest here. When I went to a town about 13 mi. away (Sharpsville PA) looking for a geocache I found a very toruist area that I never knew was there, and I have lived here all my life. I found the cache and then looked around. This #10 lock is the last you can see along the Shenango River in N West Pa. it was part of the Erie Extension Canal. This town made a nice little park here and you can also go fishing in the river. You can see the river flowing beside it in the second pic. The canal went from Lake Erie to the Ohio River. For more info you can google the Erie Extension Canal. This is just an added fun time to Geocaching. I think I will be posting a few more things around Mercer Co. as I find them.

THE HOUSE! Well I would say we got the house 3/4 finished. Hope to finish this weekend as

it will be in the 60's and no rain. I finaly feel like major progress has been made takeing me closer to my new adventure. My first travel adventure will be this coming Jan. 2010 ( no rv yet)when I go to stay with my dad in FL for a few months. I plan on blogging about my travels and time there.

PAINTING HOUSE

Windows primed with white.9 AM: Well still can't figure out if I should use this blog for everything...like my getting ready to RV on down the road or start a new one. So I think I will just ramble on this one till I figure it out. Was a great day in NW PA after 3 weeks of cold and rain so son and I were able to get back working on the outside of the house. We hope to get all the windows done to day green trim. I will post later on today let you know how much we actually got done. Maggie and I usually go for a long walk first thing in the moring well since it has turn chilly we wait till later on in the day. I really need to do more excersing, when we get to FL in Jan. hope to do a lot more walking. Oh yeah ..ask #1 son if he wanted a piece of homemade apple pie...and let it me know that he declined!

Second post 6PM Well we didn't get the windows done today. Hope tomorrow. I did not do much after paintin, fixed dinner grilled burger, vegies' and ice cream sandwhich, wall mart has the best peanut butter ice cream sandwhches. I find I can't do as much hard work like painting the house as I use to , must be the retirment age thing. lol

SILVER Hi all, have something not red in my kitchen so thought I would share it. Next to red kitchen I like green, and have a few things jadeite fire king coffee mug, an old Morton spoon rest and an old apple. With it I have some metal thingy's old orange juice squeezer, an old single cup drip coffee pot or a child's not sure about it, and an old pitcher . I think I will be keeping the mug and spoon rest and everything else will be sold. I am thinking on getting an Esty shop going kinda hard to get in the mood. well thats all for tonite thanks for looking.

Vintage Thingy Thursday!

Vintage Tins

Vintage Tins and homemade Choco chip cookies!
Been having major problems with my verizon dsl ...but looks like I can do a VTT today.

Here are a few tins that I have collected over the years....I like red tins to go with my red kitchen....but have a few hershey's in there too...also made some cookies last nite...what I do is make put a batch of dough then bakes some and the rest I make into dough balls freeze on cookie sheet then put in zip lock freezer bag and when I get a craving for cookies take out a few and bake them....that way I don't eat a ton of them at a time which I would do if they were around!

This week I started working on getting my house ready to sell....my son is helping me and we got 7 windows scraped, caulked, and primed...I know....it's a little late in the year for doing this outside work but....thats the way it end up ....so I don't think we will get much more than windows done this year. Hi all.....sorry I have't been posting....things going on you know how it is sometimes. Today for the VTT I have some of those melted plastic chip Christmas decorations. I have a few of these but only have pic's of 2 rigth now. I plan on listing them on ebay. Now that flea markets and yard sale time is over here in the north east I will try my hand on ebay again. I use to do very good there but the last few yrs its not been so good. Any way here the are candy canes and candles.

I have a lot of vintage Christmas ornaments ...use to sell them on ebay....not so much any more... I remember the first box I sold on ebay.....I couldn't believe how much I got...a box of shiny brite indents with mica excellant condition in original box I got over $70 for them...I just couldnt' understand it....lol....that got me hooked on ebay....but things have changed soooo much since then. HOBBIES OLS AND NEW

FIRST CLUE WOOD AND HAMMER

FOUND IT...SEE IT?

CASHE LOG INSIDE. Old hobby and new hobbie...I have revisited an old hobby I had many many years ago...fishing....been having a ball not catching much yet..... but I have to relearn everything.

New hobby....Geocaching....this is so much fun..........Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache. The first 4 cashes I have found by clue only ...no GPS...not easy....most do not give many clues. Any way I posted my first find so you can see how it works....the clue was wood and hammer....I looked it up on the maps provied on the web site and went from there....I found the wood sign and and the hammer ...first pic....looked all around the ground didn't see a thing ....looked up at the hammer and there it was...second pic...wedged between on the top of 2x4. Got it opened signed the log and put it back for next geocacher.....it was so much fun trying to figure it all out then the hunt and then the find! Some of the caches have items in them and you can take something and leave something in the cache but always sign the log....to make this more enjoyable and be able to find the hard ones I will have to get a GPS..I have been wanting one anyway...so guess this will be on my toy list. Looking at the geo site I was very very suprised how many are hid in my area. Go to the geo site sign up (free) and check your area....I used my zip code to locate them. This is very addicting but you really should have the GPS. Well can't figure out if I want to start a new blog or just use this one for everything...I'm still working on down sizing and selling everything.

Hi all....It sure is hard getting to post on my blog sometimes! To nite I was all but ready to give it up when all of a sudden here I am.... So tonite I have a "bunch" of vintage tin cookie cutters I have tons of these little thing'ys. My dd paints on these and makes Christmas ornaments out of them sell really well. I dont paint them because she does and we use to do shows together.If I can get her to email me a couple of pic's of them I will post....they are great. RED KITCHEN THINGIES

RED KITCHEN GATHERING

REMEMBER THE FREZE BOX ? Isn't if funny how we can forget things, then see something and ...ahhhh light bulb goes off and jerks us back in time. That is what happened when I saw these Kordite boxes. When I was a kid we had a large garden as did my grandparents and there was a lot of canning and freezing going on! It is what we ate on all year long. My mom got $25 per week for groceries family of five. Now for sure things were a lot cheaper back then but it still was a stretch even back then and she did that for over 25 yrs. until she past in 1969. any way these things are from a gathering I sold on ebay last yr. PINK FIRE KING I have had some problems logging in to my account, anyone else? But I am back today with some pretty pink vintage thingy's. Really neat vintage water glasses, I love vintage glasses and have a nice collection that I use everyday. I will post them sometime. I have a small collections of vintage crochet potholders and here is a pink one. Then there is a beautiful pink depression glass divided plate. Love depression glass also. PIRATE JEWELS!?

Hi all...here is my VTT for tonite...Don't ya just love old vintage jewelry? I do, but I don't ware much jewelry ....I just like it. Use to sell a ton of it in my store....and have a ton of it left....been trying on and off last few yrs to sell it on ebay...this is one lot I had for sale. To let you know how much I have left ....it is two large WMart totes full and very heavy. Also have been taking it to the flea market but very slow sales and I have it marked cheap cheap. Like $ 1 a piece. A lot of it is marked but some is not. I would buy a whole box load at an auction and couldn't wait to get home to pour over it...was like Christmas lol. HENS, CHICKS. AND SHOES!

This is what I did on Sat. so I could take them to the flea market on Sun. They are some ceramic shoes that were left over from my store days.. I use to fill them then with hens & chicks and sell them ...moslty in the summer. A few yrs ago a neighbor of mine put two large strawberry pots full of hens & chicks for the garabge. I stopped and ask if I could have them she said take them.

So I did! And let me tell you I have made more than a few $$$ with them. I have only 6 left so if I let them go this summer I shoud at least double them by next yr. So I guess you could sort of call these Trash To Treasure. I even sold the plastic pots at a yard sale last year! Thats all for today.

Crates, crates, and more crates, these are left overs from my store. One day after I first opened my store, an old lady comes in walkes around and then comes up to the desk and ask me if I would be intrested in some old crates from the 30's and 40's. I said sure would, then she told me about how her and husband had a grocery store during that time and in the basement were a bunch of old wood crates. So I made time to go visit her next day and she took me to the old building where the store was. It is in another town about 2o mile from my store. The building is down town and empty now but in good shape. Well I ended up getting about 20 old crates some very big ones most were like these. There is an old Cap e Cod Cranberries crate , really neat on the one end is a map showing where it came from on the Cape. And we all know Yoo Hoo...then there is another pop crate from a local beverage co. called Nehi Beverage. Well know for its orange pop. Here in NW PA we call soda... pop. The other 3 are fruit crates from all over the country. I kept these to use as display in my craft show booth...but I think I will be selling them soon. TRASH TO TREASURE

Here are few t2t things I did this week. I forgot to take before pic's sorry! I will sell these at the store where I rent space. I usually sell a lot of Americana stuff there. Right now I am working on a small step ladder painting it RW&B also...and of course I forgot to take before pic! The cans were without gas for yrs but I always clean them out with alcohol anyway. I am still working on getting rid of my stuff and still thinking about starting an other blog on RV'ing from start to getting on the road. Its a hard job doing it all by yourself. Some days I think about just chucking it all out for the garbage man to haul away. Well that's all for today
