COOL THINGS

COOL SEWING THINGS Did not know what to post today. No new pic’s to show you. So went thru a few olddies and found these. To cold yet to go out and work on anything. Only 34 this morning!

005Gathered up these the other day. I want to use them in some art project. Just now sure what.
WISH I STILL HADE THESES

004I found these pic frames at a yard sale couple years ago. They just lived out in my room for a year or so…than last year…when in a funk…I was getting rid of all art/craft stuff. So I gave them away. Now funk gone and I want to get back to work and they are gone …boo hoo…oh well….I even went so far at one point in time to paint them black.

PRETTIES !!
FLRSThis was taken a couple years ago at my house in PA. Some Knock Out Roses mixed in with some pink climbers. They are on the side of my front porch. Little Maggie is in there somewhere….

HAND MADE FLOWERS

008Some very pretty hand made flowers. I made some of them and got a few in swaps. Loved doing swaps…hope to get back to them sometime soon. Pretty colors too.

HOW COOL IS SHE!!

100_1256And how about this pretty cool girl? My Maggie girl…you have to click on the pic to see how pretty she is!!!

HAPPENING NOW

Not much that’s for sure. Did a few things yesterday you can check my other blog to see what.

I am trying to spice up the look of my blogs with out changing the format. I really don’t want one of the new ones with all the bells and whistles.Jus slows things down I think. Both my kids have BD’s this month I am making my DD’s card and  need to send it out tomorrow…not sure DS would want a handmade sissy card lol. Got a ton of ideas for some new stuff to make and sell…wish I could find some of the smaller printer drawers. I know that when I get to PA this summer I am going to hit the yard sales and flea markets hard looking for stuff for all my new ideas. So I don’t have much to show you want I am working on but will soon.
All for now thanks for looking and come back soon

NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS ATC SWAP

022Over at The Altered Paper blog hosted by Tee…http://thealteredpaper.blogspot.com/  we just did a swap for an ATC card theme Night Before Christmas. I chose “Sugar Plums Danced in Their Heads” I could not find any books or graphics for this theme so I made up my own. The ATC is made from a piece of packaging that some stickers came on…liked the pink candy look of it. I took candy sticker and snow flakes and put them on the inked card. Printed Sugar Plums on it. Some of the stickers of candy are 3D…
023And this is a pic of some things I send along for the ride. Hope my partner Cissy can put them to good use.
004And this is the ATC card that Cissy sent to me. Red card stock make the base of the ATC, and then she did some layering….with what looks like burlap, then Christmas paper with red satin ribbon…a printed out paper with part of the poem and then these teeny tiny cooking cutter emblies….funny I happen to have some of those emblies…..Almost used them on my ATC… Smile
006And these are some really great things she sent along for the ride. Soooo many goodies cant wait to use them…Thanks so much Cissy!!! http://cissyandfranshow.blogspot.com/
Still have 2 more swaps to send out for this year…..partners they will be in the mail by Monday. I have been doing my crafting in MySweetDream motor home….it sure takes up a lot of space to do this…I wonder when I start traveling how I will manage this…I do not want to stop crafting…This will be a challenge for sure …..I know I will have to make a place for some storage because I want to sell my house in PA. Well that’s all for now thanks for looking and come back soon…I also have a couple more swaps that I received to post on yet…

VTT, PAPER POPPIE'S, & A CACHE

VINTAGE SILHOUETTE: My VTT for this week. These are two vintage hand painted silhouette pic's done in silver and black not the usual black and white. I got them about 10 yrs ago at a yard sale for $3. They are from the 1930's and the last time I checked they were listed at $30.00 each. I love them. I have some other silhouette pic's that were my maternal grandmothers. She had them hanging on the wall going up the stairs. They were hanging there as far back as I can remember. Visit our VTT host at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/

PAPER POPPIES: Here are a few things I made last week for my altered are projects. I got the idea from another altered art blog. My take on them was to use pages from magazines. I cut out the colorful part of a page or a colorful add. Cut rounds in two sizes and crumpled them up. Then I un-crumpled them some what not totally flat and glued them together in the middle. Then added a button. I wanted them to stand up around the edges and stay that was so I painted them with watered down white glue. Very lightly. I tried to take the pic so you could see how they stand up around the edges. Fun to make and addicting.

PALM TREE CACHE

THE CACHE: This was a cool cache! And easy to find even tho I have never seen on like it. It took me longer to walk to tree from parking lot than to find the cache. Its that black dot in the middle of the dead palm branch.

To show you how small it is, that is a dime beside it. And I needed one of my "special tools" to get the log out and signed.
Well thats it for today, thanks for looking and come back soon. I hope to be posting more often.
