THIS WEEKS VTT.

Poodles, pink lipstick, and cat eye sun glasses!

Cats eye glasses with your fav poodle skirt what a hoot! Vintage Thingie Thursday : Vintage Favorites
Remember these thingie’s? What fun we had “back in the day” A few things I have picked up over the years, include mini match holder, cigarette case, 2 compact’s, cats eye sunglasses, money case that is divided to hold coins, shoe button hook, and a neat lip stick tube cover. It sure brings back memories. I would like to sell these but ebay is so bad right now….maybe I will open an esty store…what do ya think? I am going to visit my daughter this weekend in VA... going thrifting, might set up at a fleamarket if the weather holds….
She has a lot of neat kitchen items … a few yrs ago before it became popular she did her kitchen in citrus lime and lemon…it is so cool…. Painted the walls lemon with lemons as a boarder and painted her cupboards lime green…I will take some pic’s if its ok with her. Don't forget to check out http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/ she is host for the VTT and has a great blog
Well all for now

They buy alot.
Had one amish lady buy a spatula and another buy a piece of material.

Here are a few things I learned about fleamarket selling,,,
set up on the long side of a row...I watched people going the whole way along the row...and ignore my side with only 3 table set up.
Set up in the sun...if its spring time.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

Depression glass stemware. What I remember best about these goblets when I was little my grandma would get them out of the china closet and fill them with ginger ale and we would play going out to dinner...oh what fun children have ! These are so thin that sometimes I think if I squeezed them at the top they would break. This plate is one that I loved from a very young child...the colors and flowers always facinated me. She had aways told me that it was mine when she was gone. One day after my grandpa died she took it out of the china closet and gave it to me. Ahhhhhhhh such memories. It is marked on the back Noritake japan with a crest of some sort.

Victorian china Occupied Japan Sunburst...these were her "good dishes" and we ate many Chirstmas dinners on them. A complete set for 12 with all the side dishes. They were given to me as the oldest grandchild when she died. I don't use them often as family is scatterd and not together on holidays. They are beautiful.

Well another week gone by...and time for my second VINTAGE THINGIES THURSDAY! This week I will showcase my other grandmothe...this grandma I spent a lot of time with...as we lived with them when I was born and a few yrs after...then moved only a few blocks away and I was always at their house ...even after we move to the country ..about 5 miles away. I always want to be at grandmas cause they live in "town". I wanted this to be at the top but as you can see I am still learning this blog stuff..lol
Don't forget to visit http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/ this lady host VTT every week. Vist her wonderful blog!

More store pic's

Rehab old window First floor
Thought I might share another pic of my store This pic was after I moved my store to a whole house ...6 rooms ...still in the same village just out of a mall type building where I rented whole room to a house down the street. The pic on the far wall is the stair way wall and I kept my prints on that wall the whole way up the stair. The front door is to the left of the corner cupboard the area where you can see the bunny is in the middle of the room. My check out was about where I am standing to take pic against the wall.
The rehab window is an old house window and I built a box on the front antiqued the whole thing and decorated it. Think I need to make some more of these. I have the windows.
Thanks for look! Blessings to all.

HE IS RISEN

HE IS RISEN!

He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter,'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' "

VINTGAGE TRASH TO TREASURE

Kitchen T2T

This trash to treasure is one thing I do with the old wood handled kitchen utensils that I find at yard sales and fleamarkets. I cut apples out of 1/4 " laun and paint them. These have been my siginature apple all these yrs . I make many many things with them. Then I glue them to the handle of the utensil , add statice and decorate with the mini kitchen things. Raffia bow and done.
I have been selling these for 20 yrs and they still sell. I hope you can see the utensil I am not the best pic taker.
Maggie and I went to my brothers this moring to help him make homemade sauce and meatballs for his card playing buddies, while I was there I antiqued an old knee hole maple desk for him..50-60's. He had painted it a gun metal blue and I antiqued it with briwax. When I go back later today I will take a pic and post it...I forgot my camara before. Mmmmmmmm can't wait to go back and get my meatball sandwich for supper tonite. All for now

MY FLEAMARKET FRIDAY

Goodies! Went to local fleamarket and got all these goodies for only $10 ....will add the old pic's to my growing collection of ephemera that I want to use in making college's and try and sell some college kits. The old photograph book is full of old pic's. Don't you wonder how these families end up at a fleamarket. Kinda sad if you ask me. Box of domino's for altered art....still learning about that.

The old red handled utensiles will be used in red kitchen gatheings for ebay and other stuff like that the vintage measuring spoons will end up as snowmen Christmas ornaments. I will show before and after pic's when I start them. The small one cup dripolater type pot will either be put with some vintage childrens kitchen and baking items or I will paint it with snowmen. This fleamarket is about 20 miles away and I have been going for several yrs. Used to go every week when I had my store...sure found some great deals then. Alot of Amish go to this flea. I will try and get some pic later on when it is bigger...its early in the season yet and not full . I live in a community that is surounded by Amish ...our WM even built a stable for them to hitch their horses to when shopping. Well thats all for today.

Vintage Thingies Thursday

Vintage Thingie Thursday : Vintage Favorites
I am new to the blog world and this is my first participation in a blog event. I am excited! Hope I do it right so here goes. Both my grandmothers were great cooks! This post will showcase some of my paternal grandmothers vintage kitchen items. She was an awesome cook, she did a lot of authentic Pennsylvania Dutch recipes that were passed down from the family . As we are descends of the Pennsylvania Dutch. First is a red swirl enamel spatter ware, this is a very large bowl and I don’t use it, for display only. Next is a large stoneware crock mixing bowl . Don’t use this one either. But I do use this old match box holder it is hanging above my stove. It is pretty beat up but I love it anyway! Well this is all for now I hope I did all the linking right. Thanks to Coloradolady for hosting this event! Here is a link to her blog http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/
