Vintage Thingies Thursday

Depression glass stemware. What I remember best about these goblets when I was little my grandma would get them out of the china closet and fill them with ginger ale and we would play going out to dinner...oh what fun children have ! These are so thin that sometimes I think if I squeezed them at the top they would break. This plate is one that I loved from a very young child...the colors and flowers always facinated me. She had aways told me that it was mine when she was gone. One day after my grandpa died she took it out of the china closet and gave it to me. Ahhhhhhhh such memories. It is marked on the back Noritake japan with a crest of some sort.

Victorian china Occupied Japan Sunburst...these were her "good dishes" and we ate many Chirstmas dinners on them. A complete set for 12 with all the side dishes. They were given to me as the oldest grandchild when she died. I don't use them often as family is scatterd and not together on holidays. They are beautiful.

Well another week gone by...and time for my second VINTAGE THINGIES THURSDAY! This week I will showcase my other grandmothe...this grandma I spent a lot of time with...as we lived with them when I was born and a few yrs after...then moved only a few blocks away and I was always at their house ...even after we move to the country ..about 5 miles away. I always want to be at grandmas cause they live in "town". I wanted this to be at the top but as you can see I am still learning this blog stuff..lol
