VINTAGE RED & WHITE STUFF

VINTAGE STUFF
VINTAGE ENAMEL

HAND PAINTED RED

VINTAGE CC'S

For my VTT today I have some more of my stuff. I am packing up and ran across some more so thought I might as well be for VTT.
To start with is a couple of pieces of white enamel with red trim. I seems like the red trim enamel is the most sought after. I use to have a lot of this and sold a lot too. I have only a few pieces left for my self.
Next is a couple of vintage coffee pots that I painted white then added my sweet red cherries. This is more of what I use to sell on ebay. These two items are for sale if you are interested please contact me.
Last is some vintage cookie cutters. We use to paint them also as you can see the metal ones with the cherries on them. The others are red plastic HRM cookie cutters, that most often brought in big $$ also. I don't know why but the collectors wanted the HRM cutters.
I am still busy gettting ready to sell the house, and move to FL. You can check on that and more about me and Maggie on my other blog. http://grammyandthepapillonprinces.blogspot.com/
Check it out.
And don't forget to visit the host of VTT she has a great blog!

FROM THE PAST, AMERICANA

AMERICANA DONE
1950 DOLL HOUSE

INSIDE DOLL HOUSE
Today for VTT I have a 1940-50's old metal doll house with all most all the original furniture.
It is just like one that I use to have and I loved it! This one is in excellent condition. If any one wants to buy it email me and let me know. I am still working on getting rid of everything, thru on line sales, flea market, and yard sales.
The other pic is of Americana stuff I painted since I got home in April. It is all stuff I had around planning on painting it some day, well that day has come. I took the whole load to Volant and sold it wholesale to a business there.
Well that's all for now, don't for get to check out VTT host http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/

V.T.T. VINTAGE CANISTERS AND WILENDUR

VINTAGE CANISTER SET
WILENDUR ROSE TEA TOWELS

WILENDUR TEA TOWEL
This is going to be my VTT for this week, I will go and post it the. This is a beautiful vintage canister set with the match holder all in red flower pattern. The set is my DD's and in great shape. I use to sell the vintage canister sets in my store, the apple were the one.s that brought the most money. All the vintage tin is still in demand but you don't get the money that we use to.
Even the newer advertising tins like the Ritz , and Nabisco Premium cracker tins are in demand.
The other thing that was in high demand and got good money was vintage Wilendur linens. Especially the cherry and rose pattens. I love old linen, especially the hand embroider stuff. I learned how to embroider when I was 12 years old, so I guess that anything I did then would be considered vintage lol. I have nothing that I ever embroidered but have one thing of my mothers. Stupid of me to get rid of it when I was younger and didn't like "old stuff"
I am finishing up the trim painting in the bath room today, doing the vanity and that will be all in the bathroom. I will be starting the woodwork trim in the bedrooms next.
Son is working hard on the garage between rain days. It turned out to be a bigger job than we thought, don't they all!
I have no idea how much we will get done on the house this summer, but I am hoping a lot, so I can rent it out before I leave for Florida. I don't think I will be selling it at this time so rent is something to try for now.
Since I wont be selling right away, no RV for awhile so, I think I would like to get a van. I will be hauling stuff to FL and need one and Maggie and I can also go camping in it.
We have been doing some Geo-caching and having a good time. It would be more fun if I had a caching partner. If you want to check out our caching adventures check my other site
I will try and keep up this site in a timely manner in the future. Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings to all

ANTIQUES & RELAY FOR LIFE & VTT

ANTIQUE PIC
ANTIQUE DRESSER WOW! I didn't realize how long since I posted last. Sorry for the time lapse. I have been really busy down here in Florida! I love it here! This is my VTT post I know its early but I have to do it when I can. This is a print from a painting by Corneille Max. Germany 1875-1924 her name is
Anna Bridgitta, and that's all the info I could find out. If anyone knows anything else please comment. The dresser in the other pic is an old antique dressing table, that was in my dads hunting camp for years and years, it now is in my bed room in Florida. It is all oak it was refinished and is beautiful ! I have been here helping my dad, we had a big yard sale for him and did really good you can see pic's of it on my other blog http://grammyandthepapillonprinces.blogspot.com/

I also re-habed a couple night stands red white and blue, there are pic of those also. My time here has gone so fast, can't believe it.
It has been the coldest winter in Fl in 50 yrs, figures the winter I come!! I will be heading back to PA in about 23 days , seems like it was just the other day I was counting down the time to leave for FL. I have a few things yet to help dad with before I leave , he wants to hang a new door on the Florida room , seems that the salt from the ocean got to it. I will take pic's when we do it.I will be coming back in the fall.
My DD in VA is deep into the Relay for Life. She is doing fund raisers there and she has a web page for one of the fund raisers. My mother died of breast ca when she was 4o yrs old , in 1969. She is doing this for her, she has a pic of mom on the page a very old pic of her sitting on the bank of a creek with feet in the water, check it out and donate if you would like to help out breast ca research. And thanks in advance. I think next yr I will get involved. Here is the link, I will put it on my side bar if I can figure out how

VVT BALLON LADY

BIDDY PENNY FARTHING BALLOON 2 BIDDY PENNY FARTHING
The standing balloon lady belonged to my grandmother, I loved and admired it as a child and still love it today. It is a knock off , from the Royal Doulton lady. They are chalkware, but that in its self could be of some value. But they do have some chips in them, so there goes the value. Wouldn't sell my grandmothers anyway. The other one my DD got on ebay for me.
Here is a little history on Biddy Penny

Made by Royal Doulton. H.N. 1943. BIDDY PENNY FARTHING BALLOON FIGURE. Designed by L. Harradine. 9" in height. Various Vibrant colors of lady carrying a bunch of beautiful gayly colored balloons. She is wearing a shawl and a floral hat. She is also carrying a basket around her left arm filled with uninflated ballons in her left hand. Excellent Condition. No chips, cracks or restoration would sell around $350!
We are still liking Florida alot, esp. the sunshine. Don't forget to check out or fun time at my other blog.

ANTIQUE VINTAGE CRYSTALS

CRYSTALS
CRYSTAL DRAWER PULLS

VINTAGE DOILY Here are a few antique crystals I have collected over the years, some from a crystal table lamp and some from a very old antique crystal chandelier. I think there are about 100 of them, I guess I will be selling those too. At the local flea markets they get about $1.00 each. I might be able to get more on the internet. The crystal drawer pulls sitting beside them I found on an old antique wash stand along side the road. It was way beyond repair, but the pulls were a great find. I have everything sitting in a red vintage bowl. Underneath is a vintage hand crochet doily from the 50's. Everything is sitting on a vintage wicker coffee table, at least that is what I am using it for. I am down here in sunny Florida helping my dad out, I will be here till the end of March. These are some pic's I took before I left, so I would have a few things to put on VTT.
Me & Maggie are haveing a great time its soooo warm and sunny! Check out my other blog to keep up with us. On there you will see some pic's of why I wanted to get out of PA.

VINTAGE COOKIE THING'IES

VINTAGE COOKIE MAKING
COOKIES TO GO I don't know if I will make the VTT but I will post anyway. When my son was here painting my
home he was making fun of my vintage thing'ies! I got to thinking about it and figured I might as well use all my vintage instead of just looking at it...so thats what I have been doing. These items are what I used yesterday to make cookies. hmmmmmmmmm wonder if that makes them vintage cookies ...lol. The two bowls are part of my vintage Pyrex set, then I used a few of my vintage metal cookie cutters, and really old vintage measuring cups, and the old vintage measuring spoons. Using all these things makes me feel good and I like using them. Have a Merry Chirstmas!

VTT CHERRIES

CHERRY LUNCH BUCKET
CHERRY CAKE SAVER Hi all this week for VTT I am showing you some of the "rehab" work that I do. A few years ago
I use to sell a lot on ebay....I would take old vintage items and give them a new life. Here are a couple things I would paint.....vintage lunch bucket and vintage cake saver....I would try and get some that were in pretty good shape and the prime, base , and paint my sweet cherries on them.
Cherries were a hot deocrating item at the time and I sold hundreds of items .....but alas all good things come to an end and so did ebay. I don't waste my time trying to sell , I was going to try again but after watching it for a week or so .....changed my mind. I still might try an esty store at some point.
Also I started another blog to post about geocaching and my traveling tales when we start south in Jan. so be sure to check it out...
and dont for get to check out our host blog

VINTAGE TRAIN PARK

ENGINE 304
CABOOSE DINING CAR

TRAIN STATION

OLD ERIE RR STATIONThis is a great little museum train park totally staffed and care takeing by volenteers and they do a great job! They built everything over a period of time a little at a time. It is a great fun place to visit and learn some history. Besides what I have posted they built a small museum houseing a old model T that was build by Greenville Steel Car Co. they built tons of RR cars. All gone now. But at one time they made a few cars. Empire is the name of the car. The old Erie RR station was a bustling station at one time. My uncle was the station master there for many years and my dad worked for the Rail Way Express and made trips unloading and loading train for the RWE. I remember him takeing me to the station when I was a child and I was facinated by the old wood hand carts with the big metal wheels. Still love them now. Another thing from my childhood days was when they would get intresting thing in at the Railway Express he would take us kids down to show us, one thing that stands out in my memory is a little boro (donkey) that was being shipped some where and stopped over at his office. Ahhhhh what one remembers lol. This site also has a geocache located on it. I will post about my finding it on my geocache blog. If we just look around with eyes of a tourist we can find many things in our own area the we take for granted, when we look at them everyday. Well thats all for now.
Check back often as I have found many other things.

MORE TOURIST FINDS & HOUSE

Here is an old log cabin that was found when another building was being torn down. It is the oldest building known in Mercer Co. PA. Wow can you imagine a whole family living in it. Things were sure a hardship back in the day, I wonder how many of us could cope with living at that time? This log cabin is sitting in the small park where I found the lock geocache.
Now for the house progress it is all painted but a small trim around the front porch roof. What a load of my mind. And one step closer to my goal. A big step at that. Thanks to son for all the work. I found out doing this type of labor is not in my future, I can't do all the things I could when I was younger, intresting finding out about these "old age things" I know I will be glad when I can be a "retired" woman. I can't seem to add the pic's at this time so I will come back and try again

GEOCACHING

MICRO GEOCACHEMaggie and I went caching today was sunny but cold maggie stayed in the truck! Found 3 out of
5 we looked for. A couple of these that I cant find , I dont think they are there anymore I wish the owners would either up date them or take them off geocache.com. Didnt take my big old camara today but the pic I posted is of a cache I found the other day. This is the smallest one I have ran across. It is total of about 2" has a tiny length of paper rolled up inside that you sign.
I really like the hunt of this new hobby ...but no one else in my family seems intrested. Other than geocaching and cleaning up around the house today I did not do much. I have started (yesterday) to clean cupboards in kitchen taking out and putting in boxes things I will be selling
when I retrun home in the spring, keep out just enough to live on for the next 8 weeks....tomorrow it is going to be sunny and 60 in the afternoon so son and I are going to get
back to painting on the house. Next 3 days are going to be nice and I think we can get it done.
Well thats all for now going to read my RV blogs and watch a little TV.

Geocache and Toruist

ERIE EXTENSION CANAL LOCK # 10
LOCK FROM THE PARKING AREA

LOCK CLOSE UP WATER
USE TO FLOW THRU THIS

Well I have been thinking about things that I would blog about while traveling full time in an RV.
I know its going to be awhile so got to thinking about if I were passing thru this town what would be of toruist type intrest here. When I went to a town about 13 mi. away (Sharpsville PA) looking for a geocache I found a very toruist area that I never knew was there, and I have lived here all my life. I found the cache and then looked around. This #10 lock is the last you can see along the Shenango River in N West Pa. it was part of the Erie Extension Canal. This town made a nice little park here and you can also go fishing in the river. You can see the river flowing beside it in the second pic. The canal went from Lake Erie to the Ohio River. For more info you can google the Erie Extension Canal. This is just an added fun time to Geocaching. I think I will be posting a few more things around Mercer Co. as I find them.
THE HOUSE! Well I would say we got the house 3/4 finished. Hope to finish this weekend as
it will be in the 60's and no rain. I finaly feel like major progress has been made takeing me closer to my new adventure. My first travel adventure will be this coming Jan. 2010 ( no rv yet)when I go to stay with my dad in FL for a few months. I plan on blogging about my travels and time there.
well thats all for now
