HAND PAINTED PAPER

HP PAPER

MORE HP PAPER...........This hand painted paper I put on layers of color with an old credit card and then stamped the flowers with white craft paint, The other same for back ground then used bottom of paint bottle dipped in white paint. I then made the hearts with a Jelly Roll pen. Love those pens. I think I will use some of my HP paper to make some altered cigar boxes.

YARD WORK, & A WHITE CHALLENGE

YARD WORK...I got my pic's mixed up, this is after working all day, picking the weeds, raking , then laying down that black yard cloth. We also had to lift the white fancy brick in front, and level it , as it had sunk down in the sand. At least it is easy to work in the sand. That little green thing you see in the middle is a palm plant I am going to put there. I found it last year, back in a place were dad put all his pots and other such yard stuff, kinda messy at the time and it was under a bunch of stuff. I will show you what it will look like some day when I do some work out front.
This is when we were getting ready to put the mulch down.I forgot to take a before pic. We put down 22 bags of mulch just in the area, we have 2 more like this to do. Glad I have been going to the gym the last 3 weeks, since I am doing most of the work. At least won't have to do it again for a long time. I am going to do some planting in there but not sure what to put in. Mainly because I am not sure what goes here in Fl. WHITE CHALLENGE :This is the finished card, again I got my pic's mixed up! I don't feel that I am good enough yet in my altered art to join in any swaps or challenges so I decided to just look around and do some on my own. I found a blog that was having a challenge and the prompt was white. So this is my take on it.

WHITE CHALLENGE : Here is the white and off white, stuff I gathered up to use in this challenge. Lace, vintage lace, vintage paper doily, copy of vintage lady pic, sheet music, vintage wall paper, old buttons, and some flower punch outs I made with sheet music. I sewed the pic to a piece of card stock I use as a backing, sewed and glued some of the lace. All in all I like it but not sure if it is finished yet.
WEATHER IN MELBOURNE FL Cloudy day with a very cool breeze blowing. Today I didn't work out side, went to the gym, then got a call from a new geocacher I met, and she invited me to a geocache/picnic at Whickham Park tomorrow. So came home and made food, taking egg salad sliders, chips, and choco/peanut butter brownies. Making things to eat with fingers, so we don't have to worry about silver ware, plates and all that. Trying to find a place to get oil changed in my truck, price down here is more that PA. Found a wall mart by the Michael's store I got to so going to check that out.
Well that's if for now thanks for looking and stop back soon

VTT, PAPER POPPIE'S, & A CACHE

VINTAGE SILHOUETTE: My VTT for this week. These are two vintage hand painted silhouette pic's done in silver and black not the usual black and white. I got them about 10 yrs ago at a yard sale for $3. They are from the 1930's and the last time I checked they were listed at $30.00 each. I love them. I have some other silhouette pic's that were my maternal grandmothers. She had them hanging on the wall going up the stairs. They were hanging there as far back as I can remember. Visit our VTT host at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/

MORE VINTAGE SILHOUETTE

PAPER POPPIES: Here are a few things I made last week for my altered are projects. I got the idea from another altered art blog. My take on them was to use pages from magazines. I cut out the colorful part of a page or a colorful add. Cut rounds in two sizes and crumpled them up. Then I un-crumpled them some what not totally flat and glued them together in the middle. Then added a button. I wanted them to stand up around the edges and stay that was so I painted them with watered down white glue. Very lightly. I tried to take the pic so you could see how they stand up around the edges. Fun to make and addicting.

PALM TREE CACHE

THE CACHE: This was a cool cache! And easy to find even tho I have never seen on like it. It took me longer to walk to tree from parking lot than to find the cache. Its that black dot in the middle of the dead palm branch.

To show you how small it is, that is a dime beside it. And I needed one of my "special tools" to get the log out and signed.
Well thats it for today, thanks for looking and come back soon. I hope to be posting more often.

FRIENDS, AND A CACHE

A BUNCH OF FRIENDS
ONE LEGGED FRIEND

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL FRIENDS

THE CACHE IS THERE

NANO CACHE WEATHER IN MELBOURNE FL: Temp 79 Sunny with a few clouds. Beautiful day.
The other day Maggie and I ate lunch at this little park, one of our fav's because of the
ibis, sea gulls, ducks, and ugly long legged things. I will take a pic of them next time. In the first pic this crowd always come to greet. Waiting for a hand out. I give them bread scraps. Fun to watch them grab and run with their bounty. In the second pic is a one legged ibis. He always hangs back, so I try and get a hunk a bread to him. I wonder what got is foot. Then there are the brave bully's of the parking lot. They jump right on the hood looking in the windshield at you!
The cache is one 6 we found over the weekend. It was located at a popular ice cream place.
Mrs. Garmin - Geea took us supposedly to G-Zero. As you can see in the pic that there is not much there at GZ. So I got out and look closely at everything and felt everything looking for it.
After about 20 min I got back in the truck to leave, sat there for a few min, and looked right in front of me, and said maybe that's it, so got back out and went over lifted it up to look under it and "bingo" that was it. If you click on the pic you will see a lock on the white fence area. It was a magnet nano. They drilled out a small hole on the bottom and attached the nano. I have seen lock hiding a cache before but they were fake locks. This one was in use so I really didn't think that was it. Cool cache hide.
You can see how small a nano is, penny beside it. They look like a fat pencil eraser. Usually find them stuck on a road sign.
Thats it for now thanks for looking come back soon
