Vintage Thingie Thursday : Vintage Favorites
I am new to the blog world and this is my first participation in a blog event. I am excited! Hope I do it right so here goes. Both my grandmothers were great cooks! This post will showcase some of my paternal grandmothers vintage kitchen items. She was an awesome cook, she did a lot of authentic Pennsylvania Dutch recipes that were passed down from the family . As we are descends of the Pennsylvania Dutch. First is a red swirl enamel spatter ware, this is a very large bowl and I don’t use it, for display only. Next is a large stoneware crock mixing bowl . Don’t use this one either. But I do use this old match box holder it is hanging above my stove. It is pretty beat up but I love it anyway! Well this is all for now I hope I did all the linking right. Thanks to Coloradolady for hosting this event! Here is a link to her blog http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/

Welcome to Vintage Thingie Thursday! What a great post today. When I clicked on your blog, I was so loving your header, all those vintage red items...so great!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great blog, I enjoyed looking around. Welcome again, we are happy you are here to share vintage treasures with us!
Have a great Easter weekend.
Welcome welcome! I too, love your header - it is super! Nice blog, great post today!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to VTT, Donna. You will find that RED is a favorite color of participants. Love those bowls. I have one of those match boxes I shared last week. And I saw your bread box behind the pyrex of an earlier post. Except for the flowers on the front, it is just like the one I shared this week.
ReplyDeleteGlad you joined us and hope to see you next week.
That red bowl looks like it would be perfect for popcorn! What a beauty!!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to VTT, I'm kind of a newbie to... to VTT and to Blog land :) Looks like you have a great blog. Good luck on your new ventures with crafting, websites, etc.
I really adore these bowls. So beautiful and the red one is especially stunning!
Take Care!
Stephanie
Welcome to blogging and VTT! I love the name of your blog.
ReplyDeleteSome visitors are getting a "stack overflow" message when they visit my blog. To fix it, try emptying your Temp or Temp Internet folder. Or switch to Firefox as your browser. Just passing on the info in case it happens to you.
WELCOME to VTT! I love your red splatter bowl
ReplyDeleteit is gorgeous! By the way I am a vintage
jewelry person also, looking forward to jewelry
posts of course!
Hi there and welcome to Vintage Things Thursday. First..I love your header..those potholders are simply wonderful..I've made some of the little dresses, but yours is mighty cute. And then..I love your bowls, specially the red one. It's so pretty...as is your blog. Happy VTT and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :D. Blog events are a lot of fun, glad you participated in this one! I really like your cooking gear, in this post and the previous one -- those casserole dishes really come in handy!
ReplyDeleteThat stoneware mixing bowl you've got there is the "real McCoy" and valuable. Take good care of it. It's called a "shoulder bowl. It's from the 1920's and it shouldn't have any markings on the bottom..., but it's definitely a McCoy.
ReplyDeleteBig bloggedy welcome! Today was my first Vintage Thingy Thursday too. Thanks for the sweet comments on my post. I'd love to see the swung vase that belonged to your mother. Your thingys are lovely. I have to admit that the matchbox holder is my favorite. One always hung in my grandmothers kitchen, and I wish I had it for myself.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Teresa
Love your Enamel Ware, I have some too but not much red.
ReplyDelete:( I have mosty blue/white. Thanks for sharing and YOU WILL LOVE VINTAGE THINGIE THURSDAY, it is so much fun to look at everyone else's stuff, makes me feel like I am not the only crazy collector around. LOL.
I'm so glad you've joined VTT! I don't have time (am not prepared!) to participate every week but it's fun--and I loved drooling over your pictures on your previous posts--you've got great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks all for your welcome and post..I love all vintage! Hope to do this every Thru. Red Apple Junction was the name of my store..so I just keep using it...I will post the pic of my mom's vase soon. thanks again

Welcome to blogsville.. and I love your vintagey match holder.. precious! thanks for sharing..
ReplyDeleteDonna,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your first Vintage Thingies Thursday!
Great that you have some of your grandmother's things.
I see you had a store for 15 years.
I just opened a gift shop last May, so our first anniversary is coming up.
remember how excited you were then?
But, alas, I have to now inventory all my things!!! Any suggestions?
I have had my own business for 25 years teaching painting classes, but the store has to be set up different.
Blessings,
and welcome
Barbara Jean
Howdy neighbor! I'm right over to the left a bit on the map, or is that the right?
ReplyDeleteI love your red and your toothpick holder and your bowls and well, my goodness. I just love it there! I'm so glad that you're going to let us peek at your treasures!
Welcome! Ok, just add me to all the red love that is here. You have wonderful pieces. And I also see you like to use pyrex, well, so do I. Don't think there is a kitchen out there that doesn't have one piece of pyrex or corning. So glad you joined in.
ReplyDeleteI love your vintage items. That red bowl is great!
